The backlit "Children's" lettering uses an optical illusion--as visitors approach the sign, the letters visually resolve and appear to flatten against the ceiling. The lettering was designed and positioned so visitors of all heights can enjoy the effect.

Los Gatos Library
At the base of a wooded hillside, the new 30,000-square-foot Los Gatos Library is a centerpiece for the town's Civic Center. To expand and promote the library's architectural concept of "a lantern in a forest", Matthew Williams Design worked closely with the client and designed a complete signage program, donor program, wayfinding system, identity, and a logo.
Construction Cost: $14.4 million (est.)
