Veterinary Medical Hospital
East Bay Zoological Society, Oakland The Oakland Zoo needed to replace its 1960s-era veterinary hospital with a facility capable of accommodating state-of-the-art technology and increased capacity. The new17,000-square-foot facility greatly expands the Zoo's animal care, research, and training programs, and is the first LEED-certified facility of its kind in California. The new building incorporates labs, food prep, surgery, medical support, and staff offices. Matthew Williams Design worked closely with the client to design signage and donor recognition programs for the new hospital. Construction Cost: $6.4 million (est.) Completion Date: October 2012 |
